Hello Dear California..
I am 3 days post-op and doing exactly as expected.  Sore, tired, thirsty..but I am free of tubes and wires and inflateable leg cuffs.  Aaarugh, I hate those things.
My tummy looks like a mine field because they used hospital  bandaids to cover incisions and I am allergic to this type of wound covering.  I am having no trouble keeping my fluids down,  I am practicaly pain free too.  My back hurts from laying so long on the hospital bed.
I'd like to thank everybody for their prayers and good wishes.  I haven't had a chance to read all my posts and messages yet..but I know they are full of caring thoughts and lovely prayers.
I'll post a little later to thank you all on the individual messages
Love, Kim in fontana

Kim In Fontana,

It's great to hear from you and know you're home safe, sound and almost pain free!!

Now, what about those leg cuffs??? Eek!!

Hi Shel...the leg cuffs are inflatable devices that are velcrowed around the shin and ankle area to prevent blood clots.  They entail a regular massage by changing air presure inside the wraps.  I am extremly clostrophobic and I did not do well with those things on me.  (I fought the Oxygen canula also..lol) The nurses said that patients either love them or hate them...it seems more people love them,,thank goodness.!!
Thank you for your note...Kim in Fontana

Welcome home, and I am glad that you are almost painfree.  Just take it easy on yourself.  It will be some time before you have healed completely, it was major surgery, so just sip youir water, don't worry about it, you will eventually be able to get it all in, so don't fret about it.  Just make it a time to rest and relax, and you will be fine, and will do great,

Welcome to the losers bench!

Hugs, DIane
